TSiBA Education is fully accredited with the Department of Higher Education and Training as a private higher education institution. TSiBA is in fact South Africa’s smallest university. Where TSiBA is distinct however is that we are a private and not for profit education institution which receives no government funding.
Our unique education approach is also distinct. Designed specifically around the challenges faced by first generation tertiary education students, and encompassing mentorship support and curriculum based leadership and self-development components, the TSiBA education model has much relevance in the South African context in which access to education for previously disadvantaged people has been so severely limited.
TSiBA believes that education provides the means for movement from darkness to light, and that in providing education in the way that we do we equip our students with a broad base of skills and broader opportunities to participate as active economic citizens. In short TSiBA ‘Ignites Opportunity’ to a student population who would otherwise not have access to tertiary education.
In order to fulfil the vision of igniting opportunity and in a shared mission to support the social, economic and educational advancement of vulnerable South Africans we present TSiBA as a worthy partner. TSiBA not only delivers an excellent return on corporate social investment (CSI) but also serves as an empowerment portal that that addresses all of the pillars of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment (BBBEE) Codes of Good Practice. As a fully empowered entity TSiBA offers opportunities for partners to secure BBBEE ratings across all of the pillars of the Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Codes of Good Practice, from Equity Empowerment Deals through Socio Economic Development, Skills Development and Enterprise and Supplier Development
