TSiBA Student Aphiwe Mxabanisi Wins Lead SA Hero!

07 Oct 2015

Congratulation to Aphiwe Mxabanisi, BBA1, chosen as Lead SA’s Hero of the Month!

Aphiwe is TSiBA’s Pay it Forward ethos is practice! With his mentor he started a cricket club in Samora Machel township which takes kids from schools, and the community, to teach leadership skills through sport. This is such an important initiative because it gets kids off the street and provides role models, teaches teamwork and inspires them to set goals and achieve their dreams.

Aphiwe sums it up “TSiBA value has taught me the importance of interaction and participation. Through networking I have met inspiring individuals, grown my own network and impacted my community positively through sports and development, and that to me is “The TSiBA difference”.

In the Lead SA Hero of the Month project the community nominates future leaders for this recognition award who are showing leadership skills and making a difference . Also - annually all the monthly Lead SA Heroes are invited to an awards ceremony and in line to win the overall leader award with amazing prizes.

Lead SA is a part of Primedia Broadcast initiative to provide a platform for individuals and communities to share leadership skills and opportunities to make a difference and inspire change in South Africa.

Portia Msama, BBA1 student, is another Lead SA Future Leader in this programme.
