  Frequently Asked Questions

How does one get involved with TSiBA?

Interested parties should contact TSiBA regards involvement. Bi-annual volunteer briefing sessions are held in April and October in preparation for the upcoming semester.
Potential volunteers are invited to contact TSiBA at any time to arrange a meeting / briefing.

Are there financial implications in volunteering at TSiBA?

Volunteering at TSiBA does not imply a financial component/ commitment.
Mentors may incur costs during the course of the Programme at their discretion where a mentor and their students decide on an exposure opportunity. The mentor is not required to pay for the students’ costs, only his or her own cost, but may agree to undertake the costs or negotiate this payment with the students (i.e. of entrance into the National Gallery).

How flexible is TSiBA with its volunteers and accomodating their time?

TSiBA attempts to take into account the timing restraints of its volunteers. However, where volunteers play a role in the academic delivery of the TSiBA Foundation Year or the TSiBA degree - this is less flexible.
An academic timetable is released in anticipation of each semester and allows volunteer lecturers and tutors to schedule accordingly.

What communication will I receive from TSiBA?

Depending on where you volunteer, a number of different communication tools have been put in place.
A quarterly newsletter is distributed to the wider TSiBA community. Individual and group communications are sent out as needed.
