A number of initiatives and facilities have been set up to support TSiBA students.
Syndicate / Study Groups
In Foundation Year, students are grouped into syndicate groups. These groups are able to assist each other in academic and social contexts as they continue through the year.
Students are also able to form their own study groups.
Additional Tutorials and Lectures
Additional tutorials and lectures are avaiable by arrangement. Students may also make appointments with lecturers / tutors for one-on-one sessions.
Mentorship
All students are assigned an adult mentor who plays the role of cheerleader, business advisor, personal advisor and generally is able to support our students through their years of study.
In Foundation Year, mentors are allocated per syndicate group.
In the degree programme, each student has an individual mentor. For the second and third year of study, this person is chosen by the student themself.
Student Support Office
A full time counsellor is available to listen to and provide support to students with emotional, learning, relational or contextual challenges.
Individual and group sessions are scheduled.
Students are also interviewed each term (twice a semester) by staff members of TSiBA regards each terms report, such that additional support needs are readily identified.
TSiBA students that have been appropriately trained play the role of peer counsellors and educators to the overall student body.
Student Representative Council
The vision of the SRC is "to create a vibrant student life, cultivate a sense of community where students with their different voices are respected at all levels and honour the TSiBA Education values."
The SRC is also responsible for the coordination and chairing of a weekly Imbizo meeting of the student body. This is a forum where students can dialogue and debate issues on campus. The SRC then facilitates the transfer of relevant issues to TSiBA management.
Clubs and Societies
TSiBA's culture of leadership and Pay it Forward philosophy includes students taking ownership of their campus, their career and their personal development.
Clubs and Societies are based on student initiative and leadership and build the social network of TSiBA.
Second Hand Store
From time to time TSiBA receives donations of good quality new or used clothing and other items.
TSiBA makes this available to students at a nominal charge.
Tuck Shop
A tuck shop is available on campus. Students can buy from the tuck shop at their own discretion.
Breakfast Club
Breakfast is provided to students free of charge each week day of term.
