Foundation Year
The Foundation Year, is a one-year full time certificate course that serves as a foundation for jumpstarting the future of our students into commercially active, income generating leaders of the future.
The course comprises eight modules and is equivalent to 130 credits. Students that pass this year recieve the Foundation Certificate in Business Administration. This qualification prepares students for entry into higher education level studies at TSiBA, the world of work or into the entrepreneurial environment. In addition, the course integrates the development of the emotional quotient (EQ) through the integrated practice of the attritubes of initiative, communication, responsibility, resilience, tenacity and integrity. The guiding and integrative question for this Foundation Year is "Who am I?"
Only students that pass this certificate course are eligible to apply and be admitted into the degree.
All courses are instructed in English, and all work is to be produced in English.
The course is delivered through lectures, tutorials and individual practical projects.
Bachelor of Business Administration Degree
The TSiBA Bachelor of Business Administration focusses on Entrepreneurship and Leadership and has been developed to address the industry need for employable graduates / entrepreneurs who:
Understand the components of business and can "speak the language"
Have practical business experience and acumen
Have an entrepreneurial mindset
Can think critically and systemically
Have well developed team and leadership skills
Are emotionally intelligent
Are inspired to have an impact in the workplace, to be life-long learners and to consider further post-graduate studies
The TSiBA BBA has a strong experiential learning component with practical work and field experience forming an integral part of the curriculum. Integrated systesm thinking, problem solving, creativity and ethics underpin all subjects and learning.
During the three-year span of the BBA curriculum, all students are guided through the devlopment of the self in relation to the world. This is done in the first year of the degree through the development of the students capacity to implement projects successfully, and highlighted with a focus on continuous learning, collaboration, networking, creativity and independence. The guiding question for this first year is "How can I be successful?"
In the second year of the degree, students are expected to display higher order thinking skills such as discernment, systems awareness and the ability to deal with complexity. The guiding question for this year is "How do I add value?"
At third year level, students are expected to be able to ultimately integrate values, beliefs, feelings, rational observations and analysis into an effective and authentic way of being in the world. The guiding question for this year is "What is my work?"
