Footprints

When these feet started this journey they were so clean
Feet that were to lead you to where you are today
When these feet started this journey
I’m sure many doubted that they would last till the very end
But they did! These feet took a long time to get to where they are, but now they’re here
Let your feet bask in the ambience of its success
Let no one tell you where your feet should go
Let no one tell you how fast or slow they should go
Let your feet boycott every dark path
Even though these feet were tired from running from class to class
Even though these feet were stuck in mud, YOU pulled through with all your might
Even though the road had been filled with thorns
These bloody, broken, blistered but brave feet never gave up.
Because now you’re here
Let your feet bask in the ambience of its success
Let no one tell you where your feet should go
Let no one tell you how fast or slow they should go
Let your feet boycott every dark path
These feet that cried with pain
These feet that embodies the leadership style of Tata Nelson Mandela
These feet that show courage and always spoke their truth like Steve Biko
These feet that believed that anything was possible like the great Richard Branson
These feet that now leave a legacy to the ones left behind
Footprints that you leave behind can never be erased
Footprints that cover these corridors can never be evaporated
Let your feet bask in the ambience of its success
Let no one tell you where your feet should go
Let no one tell you how fast or slow they should go
Let your feet boycott every dark path
Today these feet celebrate and dance in trance
Today these feet glitter with gold
Decorated and braced with the most stunning beads
Emancipate those feet and let them lead you to a place better and bigger than you ever imagined
Let your dance and rejoice to the song that awaits you
Let you’re your feet dance and rejoice to a song called Life!
